When I press my MSG button, my phone calls another extension & I can't retrieve my voice mail.It is possible for a phone user to activate the MSG lite on another phone by dialing the extension number, followed by the number 7 or by pressing the MSG button. When the MSG button on the second phone is then pressed it will call the first phone. The lite will not automatically go out until the first phone answers. To manually clear the lite dial INTERCOM #409 (omit the # on some older systems.) e.g. Station A dials Station B, followed by either the number 7 or the MSG button. Station B's MSG lite is now flashing. When Station B's MSG button is now pressed, it will call Station A. To clear the lite, Station A must be answered using either the handset or the intercom button. Alternatively, the lite on Station B can be cleared by dialing INTERCOM #409 (omit the # on some older systems.) Back to Frequently Asked Questions
